Lee Carver (10:30am session), author of ‘A Secret Life,’ and others books, describes ‘blurbs’ as the
sales description which appears on the back cover of books and on all sales
channels such as Amazon.com and GoodReads; ‘pitches’ are the thirty-word hooks
designed to pique an agent, publisher, or buyer’s interest; and ‘tags’ are the
briefest of all hooks, not attempting to tell the plot but going straight to
emotion. Lee Carver: http://www.leecarverwriter.com/
Multi-published, award winning author, DiAnn Mills (1:00pmsession), will be presenting ‘Plotting from A to Z,’ in the afternoon. Mills says, “Plotting your story line; it’s what your story is about. But how does a writer create a plot that engages readers in an unforgettable story?” She further explains, “Ray Bradbury wrote, ‘Plot is no more than footprints left in the snow after your characters have run by, on their way to incredible destinations.’” In ‘Plotting A to Z,’ writers will learn how to master plot techniques from a story’s exciting beginning to a thrilling climax.
We
look forward to having you join us as we celebrate our tenth anniversary!
